We would like to highlight Joyce McCord as our third-quarter Employee Spotlight for 2023.

Joyce started at USB as a Teller at the Main Office in September 1998, shortly thereafter, she became a Customer Service Representative. In 2001, when the Clinic Drive Branch opened, she transferred and became a Loan Assistant and later a Loan Officer. Within a few years, Joyce became the Branch Manager at Clinic Drive. In 2009, Joyce earned the position of Assistant Compliance Officer which is still her current role.

Joyce has been married to Dorris for 47 years and they have two amazing daughters and wonderful sons-in-law, Marie (Chris McCourt) and Angela (Mike Stallons). They enjoy spending time with their family including their four grandchildren and their fur baby, a 6-year-old long-haired chihuahua named Peanut. They have a few neighborhood dogs and cats that they also feed and love.

Each year, Joyce looks forward to family vacations to the beach and a new tradition of “Girls Trip” with her daughters and granddaughters.

When we asked Joyce to summarize her years at USB she said, “The past twenty-five years at USB have been wonderful because it’s just a great place to work. I knew the day I walked in for my interview, that this was where I wanted to be. I can honestly say that I have seen a lot of changes in the 25 years I have been here, and I am sure with all the new technology, there will be more changes to come. I have made a lot of friends through the years and have enjoyed working with each one. I have had some great leaders help me, and I hope I have helped a few along the way. Lastly, I cannot say enough about how thankful I am for our Board of Directors. They truly care for each one of their employees. It is a blessing to be able to come to work and love what I do here at United Southern Bank.”
